Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province will temporarily suspend parking enforcement on roads near traditional markets and open public parking lots free of charge during the Chuseok holiday, in an effort to revitalize the use of local traditional markets and improve parking convenience for residents.

View original imageTo encourage visits to traditional markets, parking enforcement using fixed and mobile cameras on roads surrounding Garaebi Traditional Market will be temporarily suspended from October 3 to October 9, the duration of the Chuseok holiday.
However, enforcement will continue without exception, including through resident reports, in the six absolute no-parking zones: within 10 meters of bus stops, within 5 meters of fire hydrants, within 5 meters of intersections, on crosswalks, on roads in front of elementary school gates within child protection zones, and on sidewalks (including combined bicycle-pedestrian paths).
All 41 public parking lots in the city will be open free of charge for four days, from October 5 to October 8.

A Yangju City official stated, "We have implemented these measures so that local residents and visitors returning home can conveniently use parking spaces during the Chuseok holiday," adding, "We hope everyone will actively cooperate to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday."
