Exploring the Future Direction of Jeonju's Film Industry in the OTT Era
Jeonju University (Acting President Kwon Sutae) and Jeonju City announced on the 2nd that they successfully concluded the "K-FILM Jeonju Project: 1st Jeonju Film Industry Development Forum" at the Jeonju University JJ Art Hall on the 1st.

View original imageThis forum, held under the theme "The Direction of Jeonju's Film Industry in the OTT Era," was organized to explore sustainable growth strategies for Jeonju's film industry and ways to revitalize the local creative ecosystem amid the rapidly changing video industry environment.
More than 100 people, including film industry professionals, related organizations, academic experts, and Jeonju University students, attended the event, demonstrating strong interest in the local film and content industry.
During the event, industry experts delivered presentations on topics such as "Diagnosis of the Korean Film Industry and Countermeasures" (Hwang Dongmi, Film Researcher), "The Convergence of AI and the Film Industry" (Choi Jaeyong, President of the Korea AI Video Production Association), and "The Path Forward for the Film Industry in the OTT Era" (Jung Inseon, Director of the Korean Film Studies Association), sharing insights on the paradigm shift occurring throughout the film industry.
In the subsequent panel discussion, film critic Yoon Sungeun served as moderator, joined by the three aforementioned experts as well as Jeong Seungeun, Professor of Film and Broadcasting at Jeonju University, Lee Junho, Vice President of Signet Partners, and Jeon Byeongwon, Researcher at Dongui University. The panel exchanged a wide range of opinions on "Fostering the Jeonju Film Industry." The discussion actively covered the latest trends in the video industry, response strategies for the local film sector, and development models for collaboration between local governments and universities.
In particular, the forum highlighted various achievements, including nurturing talent and establishing a creative foundation in the local film and content sector, building a social contribution model through university-local government cooperation, and providing practical industry information to young people and students. The event served as an opportunity to build consensus on a roadmap for developing a region-based film industry, jointly led by Jeonju City and Jeonju University.
