Virtual asset exchange Bithumb has applied for trademarks related to 'Bithumb Pay'.
According to the Korean Intellectual Property Office on October 1, Bithumb filed four trademark applications related to Bithumb Pay on September 26. These include 'Bithumb Pay', 'Bithumbpay', and 'bithumb pay'.
Bithumb described this trademark registration as a preemptive measure. A company representative stated, "As the domestic stablecoin ecosystem is expanding rapidly, we applied for the trademarks in advance to secure and protect our rights."

The representative added, "We are currently exploring collaboration options with multiple companies, but no specific company or consortium has been confirmed. No concrete cooperation plans have been discussed at this stage."
