Police Elect Inaugural Member to INTERPOL Asia Committee
The National Police Agency announced on October 2 that Senior Superintendent Park Jaeseok, the International Cooperation Officer, has been elected as a member of the INTERPOL Asia Committee.
The INTERPOL Asia Committee was established for the first time to facilitate discussions on policy formulation and implementation among INTERPOL member countries in Asia (53 countries), and to provide advisory functions on the execution of these policies. The committee consists of a total of eight members, with the inaugural members elected for terms of four years (four members) and two years (four members), respectively.
Senior Superintendent Park emphasized, "I will focus on four main pledges: expanding sustainable investment to combat transnational crime, standardizing the capabilities of member countries, strengthening support tailored to the characteristics of the Asian region, and increasing the influence of the Asian region within INTERPOL."
