Song Eonseok: "Pre-campaigning for Prime Minister Kim"
Jin Jongoh to Release Full Transcript on October 1
On October 1, the People Power Party announced its intention to file a complaint against Democratic Party officials and others suspected of orchestrating the mass enrollment of 3,000 members from a specific religious group into the Democratic Party in an attempt to support Prime Minister Kim Minseok in next year's local elections.
The People Power Party convened a meeting of standing committee chairpersons and secretaries at the National Assembly that morning to discuss the allegations. Song Eonseok, floor leader of the People Power Party, stated, "A proper investigation into Prime Minister Kim is necessary to uncover the core of this case," adding, "The party will move to file a complaint with the investigative authorities regarding this matter."

He criticized, "The Prime Minister should be focused on public welfare, national interests, and state affairs, but instead, he is preoccupied with organizing for his next election," adding, "Tariff negotiations are being mishandled and real estate issues continue to escalate endlessly."
Jin Jongoh, the People Power Party lawmaker who first exposed the allegations, addressed the Democratic Party, saying, "This is not a problem involving just one Democratic Party city council member. Stop trying to cut off the tail and reveal the core of the issue," urging a thorough investigation. Directing his remarks at Prime Minister Kim, he pressed, "Clarify whether you are connected to this attempted election manipulation. If the allegations are true, resign."
Regarding Seoul city council member Kim's rebuttal that the issue was "malicious manipulation by the People Power Party and the whistleblower, who is the vice president of the Seoul Shooting Federation," Assemblyman Jin responded, "I have never met or spoken with the whistleblower, who is the vice president of the Seoul Shooting Federation," and questioned, "I heard there is a connection to the Unification Church-could it be that the list was also obtained from the Unification Church?"
The previous day, Assemblyman Jin Jongoh held a press conference at the National Assembly, raising suspicions that Kim Kyung, chairperson of the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council and a member of the Democratic Party, had secured a list of 3,000 members from a specific religious group and planned to pay their party dues on their behalf to support Prime Minister Kim in next year's local elections.
