The Ventures Invests in Vietnamese Education Company "8A"
"Branches Doubled in 7 Months,
Achieves Cambridge Certification"
The Ventures, an early-stage startup investment firm, announced on October 1 that it has invested in the Vietnamese academy brand company "8A Education Group." The investment amount was not disclosed.
This investment included Don Lam, Chairman of VinaCapital, Vietnam's largest asset management company, and global education company ACE Edventures as strategic investors.
8A Education Group operates premium educational programs for K-12 students in Vietnam, offering core subjects such as English, mathematics, and science in both English and Vietnamese. The company focuses its business on "8A Tutoring" and the premium English education brand "Poly."
In the past seven months, 8A has doubled its number of branches from seven to fourteen and acquired six Ho Chi Minh City branches of Poly Language Institute, which has operated in Korea for 25 years. The key to its rapid growth is a "low-cost, high-expansion" model that utilizes unused spaces on the upper floors of commercial facilities such as convenience stores and supermarkets as academy locations. Instead of constructing new buildings or leasing standalone properties, the company repurposes vacant spaces in existing buildings, significantly reducing initial investment costs while enabling rapid expansion.
Notably, ACE Edventures, which participated as a strategic investor, is a global education company with a strong reputation for successfully operating multiple international school and kindergarten brands. Through its collaboration with ACE Edventures, 8A Education Group has strengthened the expertise of its curriculum and established a foundation for expanding its global network. As the first result of this partnership, the company obtained Vietnam's first official Cambridge preparation center certification, raising the quality of its educational offerings to a new level.
8A also operates its own platform that connects online and offline learning. Its artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning management system analyzes, in real time, metrics such as teacher speaking ratio, class pace, and student participation. When a student experiencing learning difficulties is detected, the system automatically alerts a support teacher, enabling immediate assistance. Parents receive daily learning reports to monitor their child's progress.
Kim Daehyun, Partner at The Ventures and Head of Vietnam and Southeast Asia Investments, stated, "We highly value 8A Education Group's unique low-cost expansion model and the potential to enhance educational quality through its strategic partnership with ACE Edventures. As Vietnam's premium education market grows rapidly, we expect 8A to establish itself as a leading brand in the market."

Nguyen Hong Nam, CEO of 8A Education Group, commented, "With this investment, we can provide global-standard education to more regions across Vietnam.
