The event was attended by Yoon Youngmi, Director of Gender Equality and Family Affairs of Gyeonggi Province; Kim Minho, Vice Chair of the Gender Equality and Lifelong Education Committee of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council; Kang Jihoon, Director of Corporate Growth at the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency; as well as representatives from the certified companies and approximately 200 other stakeholders.
The 'Gyeonggi Family-Friendly Good Workplace Companies' certification program aims to foster family-friendly work environments by identifying and certifying companies that operate exemplary family-friendly policies, and then providing them with a range of benefits (63 in total).
In April, the province conducted document reviews, on-site inspections, and a certification committee evaluation of 241 applicants. As a result, 64 new companies and 30 recertified companies were selected, totaling 94 final certified organizations. The evaluation criteria included: ▲ the status of family-friendly policy implementation, ▲ the interest and commitment of top management, ▲ the stability of the company, and ▲ employee satisfaction. The selected companies received a certificate, a plaque, and a certification mark in the name of the Governor of Gyeonggi Province. Notably, the newly certified companies were chosen through a competitive process with a ratio of 3.2:1, reaffirming that a family-friendly workplace culture is an essential value in corporate management.
Among the newly certified outstanding companies, BNK Sports Co., Ltd. (located in Anseong) has established a dedicated family-friendly management support department and assigned specialized personnel to operate systems such as flexible working hours and reduced working hours for employees with young children. The company also enhances employee satisfaction by providing cultural benefits and welfare support through sponsorships of sports teams such as soccer and baseball, tailored to the company's characteristics. Furthermore, it actively implements family-friendly management by promptly reflecting amendments to maternity protection policies.
Starting this year, Gyeonggi Province introduced a new support fund of 2 million won per company for recertified organizations and expanded the number of incentive items to 63 across 12 institutions. In addition, the province operates a dedicated recruitment portal for family-friendly companies to help secure talent and produces promotional videos to support outstanding companies.
In particular, the province has launched the '0.5&0.75 Job Support Program,' which provides support for attendance management systems, additional employment incentives, and reduced salary subsidies to companies operating reduced working hour systems such as 20-hour or 30-hour workweeks.
