Park Doohyung, Yeoju City Council Chair, Vows to Abolish Unreasonable Hangang Act and Lead Yeoju to a New Leap Forward
Yeoju Citizens Successfully Hold Large-Scale Rally
Urging Abolition of the Hangang Act
The "Yeoju Citizens' Rally to Urge the Abolition of the Hangang Act," organized by the Yeoju Citywide Countermeasure Committee (Chief Representative Park Doohyung, Chairperson of Yeoju City Council), concluded successfully on the 29th under Yeoju Bridge, with the participation of over 500 citizens.

Despite residents in the upper Paldang Lake area having achieved the target water quality of Grade 1 through years of sacrifice, the government has neglected its initial promises to improve regulations and provide financial support. Furthermore, criticism has arisen as the government recently announced a plan to fully open three weirs on the Namhan River, pushing forward a pre-modern policy that ignores the sacrifices of Yeoju citizens and once again injects a massive budget.
At the site, a "mud water spraying performance" symbolizing the removal of regulations was held, and citizens demonstrated their united determination by holding yellow placards and chanting "Abolish the Hangang Act."
The collective will of the citizens, as confirmed through this rally, clearly showed that abolishing the unreasonable Hangang Act is an urgent task that can no longer be delayed.
