The Gumi City Hall Kendo Team, led by coach Lee Kangho, saw its athlete Shin Jaewoo claim the runner-up title in the individual event at the 29th National Corporate Kendo Championship, held at the Jincheon Sports Town Multipurpose Gymnasium in Jincheon County, North Chungcheong Province, from September 26.

View original imageThis tournament, hosted by the Korea Corporate Kendo Federation, brought together more than 300 corporate athletes and kendo practitioners from across the country for intense competition. Representing Gumi City, Shin Jaewoo advanced to the finals of the 3rd Dan division and achieved a valuable result after a fierce match that extended into overtime.
During the tournament, coach Lee Kangho participated as an instructor at the Kendo Seminar, which was attended by corporate athletes and enthusiasts nationwide, sharing the latest kendo techniques and practical experience, and receiving an enthusiastic response from participants.
The Gumi City Hall Kendo Team is intensifying its training in preparation for the 106th National Sports Festival, scheduled to be held in October, with the goal of securing a top-tier finish.
