He accumulated ranking points by securing a come-from-behind victory at the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyungju Invitational of the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour, which took place the previous day at Ferrum Club (par 72) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, with a total prize fund of 1.25 billion won. Jung Garam achieved his fourth tour win in one year and three months since the KPGA Championship in June last year, earning a winner's prize of 250 million won.
