Academic Event to Mark 100th Anniversary of Former Seoul Station Completion to Be Held on the 30th
Discussion on Restoration of Original Form and Utilization Plans for the Space
The Cultural Heritage Administration and Korea Railroad Corporation will hold an academic event on September 30 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the completion of the Former Seoul Station, which is designated as a historic site.
Experts in the fields of railways and cultural heritage will participate to review the restoration work carried out in 2011 and discuss ways to utilize the space by preserving its original form and historical value. Professor Ahn Changmo from Kyonggi University will deliver the keynote speech on the theme "The Former Seoul Station Reborn with the Historic City of Seoul." This will be followed by presentations from Ko Juhwan, CEO of Saehan TMC, on "The 2011 Restoration and Management Status of Seoul Station," Kim Mijin, CEO of Iso Architects, on "Tasks for the 2025 Restoration of the Former Seoul Station," and Bae Eunsun, Director of the Railroad Museum, on "Utilization Plans for the Former Seoul Station Space." Anyone can participate simply by registering on site.
