Korea Federation of SMEs Selects "Proud SME Entrepreneurs" for Third Quarter

The Korea Federation of SMEs and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on September 29 that Lee Junki, CEO of Sugwang Industry, and Lee Hyangcheon, CEO of HK, have been selected as the "Proud SME Entrepreneurs" for the third quarter of this year.
Lee Junki, CEO of Sugwang Industry, was recognized for prioritizing the safety and health of workers since the company's founding in 2003 and for improving the working environment with the goal of achieving a zero-accident workplace. He was also highly evaluated for conducting annual risk assessments and for fostering a strong safety culture among all employees through a safety excellence award system.
Sugwang Industry is a manufacturer of industrial pumps used in water treatment and chemical transfer. In 2020, the company became the first in the pump industry to develop an eco-friendly, horizontally mounted, direct-coupled motor pump. Sugwang Industry has also been selected for the ESG supply chain due diligence response package project and is actively continuing its ESG management efforts.
The other honoree, Lee Hyangcheon, CEO of HK, has continuously donated to the Korean Red Cross, earning the highest honorary medal for distinguished service. He has also provided company-owned land free of charge to establish a bus lounge in Anseong City. In addition, he supports work-life balance by offering pre- and post-natal leave, reduced working hours during childcare periods, and Family Love Day. He has also been recognized for awarding significant bonuses and performance incentives to employees every year.
HK manufactures kitchen equipment such as induction rice cookers, sterilization storage cabinets, and serving tables used in group catering. The company holds 33 related patents and has obtained ISO9001 certification, operating a systematic production system.
