Educational Systems Also Down: "Emergency Response Team Directly Under the Minister of Education Activated"
Due to a fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) located in Daejeon, access to educational systems, including NEIS (National Education Information System), is being disrupted. The Ministry of Education has activated an emergency response team directly under the Minister.
As of 1:00 p.m. on September 27, when accessing the NEIS public service website, a notice appears stating, "Simple authentication is unavailable due to the fire at the National Information Resources Service." The NEIS website, which is under the Ministry of Education, is currently informing users that login services are restricted as a result of the fire incident.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education also posted a notice on its internal work portal stating, "NEIS and K-Edufine login unavailable due to NIRS fire." K-Edufine is a local education administration and finance integrated system, created by combining Edufine, which was used by provincial education offices and individual schools, with the work management system.
