Taebaek City to Raise 'Tantan Pay' Purchase Limit to 1 Million Won for October
Purchase Limit Raised to 1 Million Won, 15% Discount Rate
Local Spending Expected to Rise During Chuseok Holiday
Taebaek City (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on September 26 that for the month of October, the monthly purchase limit for the local currency 'Tantan Pay' will be increased from the current 500,000 won to 1 million won.
This measure has been implemented to reduce household financial burdens for citizens and to stimulate local consumption during the Chuseok holiday season. The city expects that raising the purchase limit will help guide holiday spending, which often concentrates in large supermarkets, toward local businesses, thereby contributing to the recovery of small business sales and revitalization of the local economy.
A city official stated, "We hope that this temporary increase, which will be in effect for the month of October ahead of Chuseok, will help citizens feel an economic recovery and support the management stability of small business owners."
