Gangjin County Launches "Nae-An-Ae" Suicide Prevention Program for Seniors
The Gangjin County Public Health Center in South Jeolla Province is launching the second round of the "Nae-An-Ae" program to promote mental health and prevent suicide among the elderly in response to the super-aged society. The health center announced on the 25th that it will conduct weekly educational sessions for a total of five times, targeting 15 local seniors, until the 29th of next month.
The program will be held every Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Boeunsan Healing Center. Based on the standardized session program from the Jeonnam Regional Mental Health Welfare Center, the sessions will cover topics such as emotional expression, stress management, sleep, pain relief, and respect for life.
In addition, experiential healing activities such as horticultural therapy, laughter therapy, nutrition management, and aromatherapy will be offered to help participants achieve psychological stability. The participating seniors will undergo pre- and post-mental health assessments and receive customized services, including individual counseling and identification of high-risk groups.
