Venture Industry Meets Chairman Joo Byungki, Calls for Eradication of Technology Theft
On-site Communication Meeting Held on the 25th
The Venture Business Association has requested that Joo Byungki, the newly appointed Chairman of the Fair Trade Commission, foster a fair market ecosystem.
On September 25, the Venture Business Association held an on-site communication meeting to eradicate technology theft at its headquarters in Guro-gu, Seoul, with Chairman Joo in attendance. The meeting was attended by Song Byungjun, Chairman of the Venture Business Association, Kwon Seongtaek, CEO of TOrder, Jo Youngsoo, CEO of CGI, as well as Park Heekyung, Head of Legal Support at the Gyeongcheong Foundation, among other venture company representatives.

View original imageThe venture industry presented a range of institutional improvement tasks, including: the introduction of a Korean-style evidence collection system; prompt correction of unfair trade practices; strengthening support for victimized companies through the distribution of fines; ensuring the effectiveness of confidentiality orders; and preventing technology theft and false statements in public bidding processes. They also requested improvements to the system to help establish a fair market ecosystem.
Chairman Song stated, "The role of the Fair Trade Commission is crucial for venture companies to continue their innovative growth without concerns about technology theft," and added, "The association will continue to communicate the industry's voice to the Fair Trade Commission and will work closely to establish fair trade practices and vitalize the venture ecosystem."
