Woori Asset Management Delivers 200 Million Won to 'With Woori Yelmae Mom Startup Support Program'
On September 23, Woori Asset Management announced that it had delivered 200 million won in support funds to the "With Woori Yelmae Mom Startup Support Program," which aims to help single mothers achieve economic independence.
The support fund delivery ceremony was held at the Woori Asset Management headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and was attended by about 10 people, including Lee Sangjun, Executive Director of Woori Asset Management, and Choi Woonjung, Secretary-General of the Yelmae Nanum Foundation.
Now in its second year, the With Woori Yelmae Mom Startup Support Program offers a package of support for single mothers preparing for small-scale livelihood businesses, including startup preparation education, startup funding, professional consulting, and mentoring. The program provides practical and systematic support to help these women prepare for entrepreneurship in a stable manner and continue to grow.
The support funds are used for business expenses such as interior design, purchase of equipment, and branding consulting, all of which are necessary when starting a business. All participants are also provided with post-support programs, including family relaxation, psychological counseling, legal and technical education, and networking events, which go beyond simple financial support to foster continuous growth.
Lee Sangjun, Executive Director of Woori Asset Management, who attended the ceremony, said, "We will continue to provide support and attention so that single mothers, who quietly take responsibility for their families and children, can achieve their dreams and become self-reliant."
Woori Asset Management expressed hope that its sponsorship would help single-parent families achieve independence and restore self-esteem, ultimately leading to positive changes in the local community. The company also plans to further develop this program into a sustainable and representative social contribution initiative, rather than a one-time project.
