Jangheung County Selected for Rural Idle Facility Regeneration Project Contest
Jangheung County in Jeollanam-do announced on September 23 that it has been finally selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' "2026 Rural Idle Facility Utilization Regional Revitalization Project." The county plans to revitalize local communities and boost the economy by regenerating aging rural facilities.
Through this project, the Sumun District Community Center in Anyang-myeon will be newly remodeled. It is expected to be transformed into a space that generates income for residents by linking with local tourism resources such as the Han Seungwon Walking Trail. The facility will serve as a rest and communication area for both residents and tourists, and will be operated as an income base for the local community.
The county has steadily promoted the regeneration of idle facilities, including Jeongnamjin Eoulchon and Sodeungseom Cultural Welfare Center. With this selection, the county will be able to accelerate the establishment of customized income-generating facilities for residents.
