Discussing Future Growth Strategies for the Three Major Megatrends
Jang Inhwa, Chairman of POSCO Group, emphasized on the 22nd, "We must not be confined by traditional methods of success, and should instead recognize that technology can be the key to opening the future of POSCO Group as a world-class company. We must maintain a sense of urgency."
At the '2025 POSCO Forum' held at the POSCO Global Research & Development (R&D) Center in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon on this day, Chairman Jang reiterated this point, stating, "We will read the future one step ahead, lead industrial transformation, and achieve sustainable growth."
The POSCO Forum is an annual event held to seek solutions for the group's sustainable growth in the era of major technological transformation, together with the management team. Now in its seventh year, the forum brings together all executives from POSCO Group companies over two days under the theme 'Era of Great Transformation: What Creates the Future?' to assess the internal and external business environment and discuss strategies for growth and innovation.
In the keynote lecture, Andrew McAfee, professor at MIT Sloan School of Management, will examine the evolution of society, the economy, and industry brought about by technological revolutions, and propose growth strategies for companies navigating the transitional period of cutting-edge innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and quantum mechanics.
In sessions dedicated to three megatrends, the program will cover topics across politics, economy, and society, focusing on: ▲New Mobility ▲AI Transformation ▲Energy. Each topic will feature expert lectures, panel discussions, technology demonstrations, and in-depth conversations.
Regarding a safety incident at POSCO E&C, an affiliate, Chairman Jang stated, "We will humbly accept the results of the safety inspection and fundamentally eliminate risks so that all group members can achieve creative results in a safe workplace." He added, "We will fulfill our responsibility to establish and spread exemplary cases of K-Safety in domestic manufacturing and construction sites."
Since taking office, Chairman Jang has focused on the importance of technology, emphasizing 'leading ultra-gap businesses based on future technologies' as one of the strategic directions for implementing the seven major future innovation tasks, including the rebuilding of the steel business and securing competitiveness in secondary battery materials.

POSCO Group plans to strengthen its technology innovation system through the POSCO Forum, which covers the group's overall growth, as well as the Group Technology Strategy Meeting and the POSCO Group Tech Forum, both of which are chaired directly by the Chairman.
