Uijeongbu City Implements 'Smart Guidance Broadcasting' for River Safety Using Drones
Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) announced on September 19 that it will introduce smart guidance broadcasting using drones to enhance pedestrian safety along rivers during periods of heavy rainfall.

View original imageOn September 11, the city conducted a practice flight for drone guidance broadcasting along the Jungnangcheon Stream to review response procedures under simulated real-life conditions. During this demonstration, the drone, equipped with a speaker, delivered announcements to areas beyond the reach of fixed broadcasting equipment by flying directly to those locations.
The drone broadcasts will deliver messages such as: "A heavy rain advisory is currently in effect," "River access is restricted to prevent safety accidents," and "Please move to a safe location," guiding citizens to move safely during heavy rainfall.
