Gyeonggi Province Mayors and County Governors Association Delivers 5 Million Won Donation to Help Gangneung Overcome Drought
The Gyeonggi Province Mayors and County Governors Association (Chairman: Joo Gwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju) announced on September 18 that it had delivered a donation of 5 million won to the Gangwon Province branch of the Community Chest of Korea to support residents of Gangneung City, who are suffering from a severe drought.

View original imageGangneung City is facing a critical situation, as the prolonged drought has caused a sharp decline in the water level of Obong Reservoir, the city’s main water source. The damage is so severe that the government has declared a disaster situation, making urgent support necessary to stabilize residents’ lives and restore the local economy.
An official from the association stated, “We hope that the citizens of Gangneung will overcome the difficulties caused by the drought as soon as possible,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among local governments in times of disaster and crisis.”
