Hyundai Motor and Kia Experience Digital Key App Outage Since Morning... "Doing Our Best for Quick Recovery"
A service outage occurred in the customer service applications of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia.
On September 17, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced that the 'MyHyundai', 'Kia', and 'MyGenesis' apps have been experiencing disruptions due to network instability since 7:39 a.m. that day.
Customers have been inconvenienced as they are unable to use the 'Digital Key 2.0' feature, which allows them to remotely lock and unlock their vehicles through the apps.
However, if the digital key was previously registered with Samsung Wallet or Apple Wallet, it can still be used normally.
Several cases of inconvenience caused by this service outage have also been reported on various automotive online communities.
One user commented, "A notice appeared in the morning, but it seems that access is still unstable. I usually don't carry my car keys, so I was flustered when the digital key suddenly stopped working."
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia stated, "We will do our best to restore the service as soon as possible."
