Busan Metropolitan Corporation and Busan City Operate Resident-Led "Happy Village Living Lab"
Mangmi Happy Village to Hold Popup Store Event on September 20
On September 17, Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) and the Busan Metropolitan Government announced that resident-led, village-customized programs are actively being operated through the "2025 Happy Village Living Lab Support Project."
The "Happy Village Living Lab Support Project" is a participatory and collaborative urban regeneration program in which residents directly identify village issues and seek solutions in cooperation with specialized institutions.
Among this year's five designated sites, the "Mangmi Happy Village" in Suyeong District is implementing a village economy program in collaboration with local residents. After completing seller training, residents participate as vendors and present a variety of products-including handmade foods, clothing and accessories, household goods, and agricultural and marine products-at a popup store within the market.
This program goes beyond simple consumption and sales, as residents directly plan brands, promote the village image, and contribute to the revitalization of the local commercial district.
The "Mangmi Happy Village" popup store event, themed "Mangmi Sisters' Direct Delivery from the Source," will be held at Mangmi General Market on September 20 and will operate from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents take the lead in every stage, from product planning and sourcing to space design, promotion, and sales.
