Vacant House Solution Team Launched... Busan City Offers One-Stop Tax and Architectural Expert Consultation
Ways to Reduce Capital Gains, Property, and Acquisition Taxes
"Guidance on the Need for Demolition or Repairs, and Estimated Construction Costs"
The vacant house solution team is taking action in Busan.
The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced on September 17 that it will operate the "Vacant House One-Stop Consultation Center," a one-stop integrated consulting service for tax and architectural matters, starting this month to reduce the neglect of vacant homes.
The city has established a customized service that goes beyond simple guidance to provide expert consultations and practical support, helping vacant home owners avoid delays in handling their properties due to tax or architectural (remodeling or demolition) issues.
This initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Busan Regional Tax Accountants Association and the Busan Association of Architects. On September 16, the city held a signing ceremony with the two organizations at city hall, appointing a total of 60 experts-30 tax accountants and 30 architects-to the Vacant House One-Stop Consulting Team and holding a launch event.
These experts will advise vacant home owners on ▲ways to reduce taxes such as capital gains tax, property tax, and acquisition tax ▲whether demolition or repairs are necessary ▲remodeling directions and estimated construction costs. The city believes that a lack of information is the main reason for the neglect of vacant homes, and aims to encourage voluntary maintenance and utilization through this service.
Vacant home owners can call the "Vacant House One-Stop Consultation Center" on weekdays between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to be immediately connected to a tax accountant or architect assigned that day for consultation.

Bae Sungtaek, Director of the Housing and Architecture Bureau of the city, said, "This service is a citizen-oriented policy to realize our vision of a city where people want to live, even if they were born again. The vacant home issue cannot be solved by owners alone, so we will ease the burden on citizens with an actionable policy involving experts."
