View original imageDamyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on the 16th that more than 20 professors and staff members from Jeonnam Provincial University participated in the Hometown Love Donation Program for Damyang County on the 15th.
Jeonnam Provincial University has collaborated with the county in various fields, including the Damyang Chaeum Startup Support Project, the Community Service Investment Project, and the Damyang Education Development Special Zone Project. Since the implementation of the Hometown Love Donation Program in 2023, the university has continued to make donations, and this latest contribution is expected to further strengthen its ties with Damyang County.
A county official stated, "We are grateful for the meaningful donation from Jeonnam Provincial University," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the donations are used for various projects that promote the joint growth of the university and the local community."

Meanwhile, Jeonnam Provincial University and Mokpo National University received final approval for their merger from the Ministry of Education in May. The integrated university will officially launch as "Mokpo National University" on March 1 next year. After the merger, it will operate the nation's first national university model linking associate and bachelor's degree programs (2+4-year system), which is also the only national associate degree program in the Honam region.
