On September 12, Sabeol Agricultural Cooperative in Sabeolguk-myeon, Sangju City, Gyeongbuk, held an export loading ceremony for the 2025 harvest of Singo pears and Shine Muscat grapes destined for Taiwan at its agricultural products distribution center. This export is regarded as a milestone marking the full-scale entry of Sangju's signature fruits into overseas markets.

The fruits were prepared in small packages to target consumer demand during Taiwan's Mid-Autumn Festival. With the steady rise in local preference for Korean fruits, further expansion is anticipated.
The Sabeol Nonghyup Pear Joint Shipping Association and the Gyeongcheondae Grape Growers' Association are supporting farmers through cultivation technology guidance and pest control education. They are also making continuous efforts to increase export volumes and diversify export destinations in the future.
In particular, Sabeol pears are a signature fruit of Sangju City and have already been recognized for their quality and flavor both domestically and internationally. This export loading ceremony is expected to further enhance the global competitiveness of both Sabeol pears and Shine Muscat grapes.
Park Jonguk, head of Sabeolguk-myeon, stated, "Although we faced many challenges this spring due to cold weather damage, I am delighted that, thanks to the farmers' efforts, we are able to export premium fruits. I hope that pioneering these overseas markets will significantly contribute to increasing farmers' incomes and advancing local agriculture."
