People Power Party to Boycott Votes on Kwon Seongdong Arrest Motion and Special Prosecutor Laws: "Protest Instead of Filibuster"
"Large-Scale Protest Planned for 2 p.m. Tomorrow"
Kwon Seongdong: "I Will Fight to the End and Win"
The People Power Party announced on September 11 that it would not participate in either the vote on the amendment to the three major special prosecutor laws (related to insurrection, Kim Keonhee, and the death of a Marine) or the vote on the arrest motion for Kweon Seongdong, both of which are scheduled to take place at the National Assembly plenary session.

Choi stated, "We will not participate in the vote on the arrest motion for Assemblyman Kweon Seongdong," and added, "Tomorrow at 2 p.m., we plan to stage a large-scale protest, similar to the one previously held on the steps in front of the main National Assembly building."
Choi also explained that the party would not take part in the vote on the three major special prosecutor laws, saying, "We will not conduct a filibuster (unlimited debate) either."
She continued, "What matters now is not the filibuster, but the fact that the Democratic Party has completely abandoned cooperation and shattered the agreement. We believe it is right to strongly protest this. If we were to filibuster, we would not be able to fight, so instead, we want to inform everyone about the Democratic Party's shameless actions."
She went on to say, "(Non-participation in the vote) should be regarded as the party's official stance," adding, "This is not just the opinion of one or two people, but a consensus among many lawmakers."
It is reported that People Power Party lawmakers will first attend the plenary session to listen to Assemblyman Kweon’s personal statement, and then leave the chamber. Choi relayed that, during the general assembly, Kweon told his colleagues, "Just do what is comfortable for you; I will fight to the end and win."

The People Power Party's decision to boycott the votes is seen as a response to the Democratic Party's breach of the agreement on the three major special prosecutor laws. Kim Byungki, Floor Leader of the Democratic Party, and Song Eunsuk, Floor Leader of the People Power Party, had agreed the previous day to a revised amendment, but the agreement ultimately fell through when Democratic Party leader Jeong Cheongrae rejected it on this day.
