Pocheon City Holds Pilot Round at Pocheon Hanyeoul Park Golf Course

Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) held a pilot round at the Pocheon Hanyeoul Park Golf Course on September 10.

This event was organized to express gratitude to the organizations and groups that contributed to the creation of the park golf course, including the Mayor of Pocheon, Pocheon City Council, Korea Water Resources Corporation Yeoncheon-Pocheon Branch, and the Pocheon City Park Golf Association. It also served as an opportunity to introduce the newly established Pocheon Hanyeoul Park Golf Course to the public.

More than 50 members, including the president and executives of the Pocheon City Park Golf Association and club members, participated in a brief educational session on park golf, followed by a pilot round of 9 to 18 holes over approximately two hours.

Baek Younghyeon, Mayor of Pocheon, stated, "Congratulations on the successful opening of the Pocheon Hanyeoul Park Golf Course," and added, "We plan to add 72 more holes in the future to firmly establish it as a premier park golf destination in northern Gyeonggi Province."

Pocheon Hanyeoul Park Golf Course is located at 140 Unsan-ri, Changsu-myeon. The facility currently features 36 holes, a plaza, and a parking lot with 179 spaces. Additional convenience facilities are scheduled to be completed and a pilot operation will be conducted by the end of this year, with the official opening targeted for March 2026.

The city plans to host major events such as the completion commemorative park golf tournament, the Pocheon City Disabled Sports Association Cup Harmony Park Golf Tournament, and the 2025 Pro Park Golf Player Selection, while focusing on facility management in preparation for the official opening.

Meanwhile, Pocheon City aims to lead the way in promoting sports for all by developing additional park golf courses, including an 18-hole Sohul Park Golf Course, an 18-hole Idong Jangam-ri Park Golf Course, a 9-hole Naechon Wangsukcheong Park Golf Course, and a 9-hole Jajak-dong Park Golf Course.
