Gwangjin District to Hold Online Discount Sale at Traditional Markets Ahead of Chuseok
Discount Events at Four Traditional Markets from September 15 to October 13
Gwangjin District in Seoul (District Mayor Kim Kyungho) will hold the "Traditional Market Online Special Discount Sale" from September 15 to October 13, 2025.
This event is part of a Seoul city public contest project, organized to boost consumption in struggling traditional markets and increase merchants' sales. Four locations have been selected: Junggok First Market, Hwayang First Alley Market, Myeongok Market Alley Shopping District, and Geonridan-gil Alley Shopping District. The district has secured approximately 15 million won in city funding.
The special discount sale will be available through online platforms such as "Naver Local Market Shopping," "Noljang," and "Baemin" (Baedal Minjok). Customers who purchase traditional market products through these platforms will receive various benefits.
At Junggok First Market, orders placed via Naver Local Market Shopping will receive a 30% discount and free delivery. At Hwayang First Alley Market and Myeongok Market Alley Shopping District, customers using Noljang for takeout or parcel orders will receive a 30% discount coupon. Geonridan-gil Alley Shopping District is partnered with Baemin. For orders over 10,000 won, a 3,000 won discount coupon will be provided, and for orders over 17,000 won, a 5,000 won discount coupon will be given.
The maximum discount is capped at 10,000 won, and the event will continue until the allocated budget is exhausted. For more details, contact the Gwangjin District Office's Local Economy Division (02-450-7328) or the respective market merchant association.
Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, stated, "We hope this online special discount sale will provide tangible support for increasing sales," adding, "We will continue to create traditional markets where both merchants and residents can thrive together through customized support projects."
