Busan Metropolitan City Corporation was the first local public enterprise to obtain this certification, being recognized for strengthening electrical safety quality in the housing sector and improving the convenience of residents.
Since its establishment in 1991, BMC has worked for 34 years to create a safe residential environment for citizens. In 2023, BMC obtained first-grade main certification for 2,962 units of Happy Housing across four complexes-Ilgwang District, City Hall Front (Complex 2), Ami 4, and Environmental Corporation. This year, BMC additionally acquired first-grade main certification for 3,473 units in four complexes, including City Hall Front (Complex 1) Happy Housing and Eco Delta City (Blocks 18, 19, and 20) for-sale housing. The Ilgwang 4BL integrated public rental housing, currently under construction, has also received preliminary first-grade certification and is preparing for main certification.
BMC is also leading the expansion of renewable energy adoption. In 12 complexes, including Dongnae Station and Ilgwang Happy Housing, solar power facilities with a capacity of 947 kW have been installed for 7,569 units. In five complexes, including City Hall Front (Complex 1) and Eco Delta City, BMC has introduced 981 kW of solar power, 1,102 kW of geothermal energy, and 2 kW of fuel cells for 4,607 units, contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality.
To raise employees’ awareness of electrical safety, BMC is also expanding work training through external professional institutions such as the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation’s Electrical Safety Talent Development Institute.
