Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation announced on September 10 that it will hold the '2025 Hangul Day Cultural Event' at the Royal Tomb of King Sejong on October 9, in celebration of the 579th Hangul Day.

View original imageThe Hangul Day Cultural Event is held annually to highlight the excellence and historical significance of Hangul, offering a variety of cultural content that both citizens and tourists can enjoy together. This year, in particular, the event is expected to attract more family visitors due to the extended holiday period.
In line with this, special programs have been prepared, including a children's musical and interactive performances. The action musical 'Hangul Warrior Aiya - Friends Despite Differences!' will be staged at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., while 'Pinkfong and Teacher Tuntun's Dance Party'-featuring the beloved character Pinkfong, adored by children worldwide-will take place at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., promising a delightful experience for children and families alike.
In addition, the 'Shelter Small Concert,' featuring local art groups from Yeoju, will be held from 1:00 p.m., and a special joint performance by these art groups will grace the stage at 4:00 p.m. There will also be exhibition programs where visitors can appreciate the beauty of Hangul, such as an exhibition of award-winning works from the 13th King Sejong National Hangul Calligraphy Contest and a brush calligraphy performance.
The event also offers a wide range of hands-on programs. Visitors of all ages can enjoy activities such as Hangul games using mini cubes, calligraphy writing, children's storytelling, and traditional flower-shaped rice cake making, all designed to engage the senses.
Lee Choongwoo, Mayor of Yeoju, stated, "This year, we have once again prepared an event that promotes Yeoju's identity as a city of Hangul culture and can be enjoyed by all generations. In particular, we have arranged a variety of programs so that children-the leaders of the future-can see, learn, and experience the value of Hangul firsthand.
