Cheorwon County Postpones 'King Sejong Cheorwon Military Parade' to October 19
Cheorwon County in Gangwon Province announced on September 10 that the 2025 King Sejong Cheorwon Military Parade Reenactment, originally scheduled for September 13, will be postponed to October 19 due to the forecast of rain.
According to historical records such as the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, "Gangmu" was a military training event in which the king personally participated, honing martial arts and hunting while strengthening solidarity between the king and local governors. King Sejong was particularly enthusiastic about Gangmu, and records show that out of a total of 21 Gangmu events, he held 19 of them over 93 days in Cheorwon.
The Gangmu parade procession will begin with a departure ceremony at the Goseokjeong Tourist Information Center, proceed through the Goseokjeong Flower Field area, and feature martial arts demonstrations and traditional cultural performances on a stage set up at the Flower Field Lawn Plaza.
Residents and tourists can join the procession to indirectly experience the Gangmu parade and view the scenery of the Goseokjeong Flower Field together. There will also be experience booths offering traditional costumes and folk games.
