'Namdalla' SungHyun Park is set to appear in Pocheon.
From September 12, the OK Savings Bank Uthman Open on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, with a total prize fund of 1 billion won, will be held over three days at Adonis Country Club in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6,499 yards). SungHyun Park, who plays on the LPGA Tour, will compete as an invited player.

View original imageFrom 2015, SungHyun Park swept 10 victories over two years on the KLPGA Tour before moving to the United States. On the LPGA Tour, she won twice as a rookie in 2017, followed by three wins in 2018 and two more in 2019, eventually reaching world No. 1. She also captured two major titles: the 2017 US Women's Open and the 2018 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. In 2017, she swept the LPGA Tour Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Money Leader awards. In the United States, she has accumulated a total of seven victories, including two major championships.
However, since the second half of 2019, SungHyun Park's performance began to decline, and by 2021, she missed the cut in 10 out of 19 tournaments. Last year, due to a wrist injury and other reasons, she did not participate in any tournaments.

This year, SungHyun Park has made the cut in five out of 14 tournaments, and last month, she finished tied for seventh at the Portland Classic. For the first time in six years since August 2019, she broke into the top 10 on the LPGA Tour. Through this domestic tournament, she aims to regain her confidence. Ten years ago, in 2015, she won this very tournament.
