Over 1,000 Students from 547 Teams in South Chungcheong
A Platform for Fostering Creative and Convergent Talent
The 4th Artificial Intelligence Robot Hackathon Festival, which brought together the imagination and technical skills of students from South Chungcheong Province, was held on the largest scale ever.
According to Sunmoon University on September 8, this year's event was co-hosted by the Sunmoon University Software-Centered University Project Group and the South Chungcheong Office of Education. It took place on September 6 at the Asan Campus, with approximately 1,042 students from 547 elementary, middle, and high school teams across the province participating.
This year's competition featured two categories: the official event, which focused on problem-solving using physical educational tools, and a demonstration event for AI-based webtoon and web novel creation.
Beyond simple robot operation, the event encouraged students to develop convergent thinking and problem-solving skills through teamwork, collaboration, and creative activities.
Students experienced firsthand the practical potential of applying AI and software technologies to real-life problems, while teachers and parents witnessed the strong enthusiasm for AI and software education in South Chungcheong's educational field.
Bae Jihae, head of the center, stated, "This is an important opportunity for students to define problems on their own and solve them with technology, helping them develop essential future competencies," and added, "We will continue to expand student-centered AI and software education in the future."
