View original imageThe Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on September 8 that it had recently signed an "Industry-Academia Exchange RELAY Agreement for Building Family Companies for International Students" with Chosun University.
The agreement ceremony, held on September 5 at the Cheongchuleorum Hall in the main building of Chosun University, was organized to support the stable settlement of international students and help them develop their capabilities. Through connections with local companies, the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry aims to provide job and startup opportunities, thereby establishing a foundation for both international students and businesses to grow together.
Through the agreement, the two institutions plan to jointly pursue the following: development of customized job and education programs for companies, support for international students in job placement and startups, recommendations for employment at member companies and enhancement of job competencies, support for the settlement and activities of specialized local industry professionals, and the spread of the international student family company model.
Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated in his remarks, "This agreement marks the starting point for sharing responsibility to ensure that international students can learn, work, and grow in the region," adding, "The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry will actively cooperate with Chosun University to help international students demonstrate their abilities at local companies."

Kim Choonseong, President of Chosun University, said, "We will actively support international students so that they can pursue their dreams and grow into global talent in the region," and added, "While fulfilling the university’s responsibility to ensure smooth job and startup opportunities, we will also nurture outstanding talent needed by the local community, thereby contributing to regional development."
