View original imageThe Local Government Human Resource Development (HRD) Contest is an annual competition where public official training institutions from cities and provinces across the country share their outstanding, self-developed training programs to strengthen educational capabilities. Following last year's Minister of the Interior and Safety Award, the Institute has now won the Presidential Award, proving itself to be one of the top training institutions in the nation.
The program presented this year was titled "The First Year in Public Office, Starting the Gangwon Way," a Gangwon-style integrated training course designed to help new public officials quickly adapt to public service and settle into their roles in the field.
In particular, the Institute reformed the traditional system of "appointment first, training later" by introducing a new structure: one week of basic training immediately before appointment, followed by three weeks of intensive training after appointment. The addition of the "Public Service Life T.M.I. Talk" course, in which senior public officials share their experiences, was also highly praised for helping new officials adapt to real-life situations. This case was recognized as an excellent model with high potential for adoption by other training institutions nationwide.

Director Lee Kyunghee stated, "Winning the Presidential Award is a result of Gangwon Province's proactive efforts to innovate training for new public officials. We will continue to develop training programs that meet the needs of the field and the organization, supporting the growth of public officials in the province and establishing ourselves as a trusted educational institution for the people of Gangwon."
