Lotte Mart announced on September 7 that it held a 'Waste Plastic Upcycling Facility Delivery Ceremony' at Guri Square in Guri City, Gyeonggi Province, on September 5.

View original imageThe event was attended by Jutae Jin, Head of the Compliance Support Division at Lotte Mart and Super, Junhyun Kim, Head of the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Agency, Yanghyun Lee, Principal of Guri Namyangju Dandelion School, as well as around 50 Guri citizens.
This delivery ceremony was organized to coincide with 'Resource Circulation Day' on September 6, aiming to spread eco-friendly values within the local community and raise awareness of the importance of a virtuous cycle for waste plastics. It was jointly hosted by Lotte Mart and the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Agency.
Lotte Mart used approximately 520 kilograms of waste plastics collected locally, along with company donations, to produce facilities such as desks, chairs, and benches for students at Dandelion School. The production of these facilities utilized high-pressure press injection technology from a local small upcycling company, enhancing their quality.
