Police to Intensively Crack Down on Train Ticket Reservations Using Macros
"Eradicating Illegal Ticket Scalping"
The National Police Agency announced on September 4 that it will intensively crack down on booking train tickets using macro programs ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
The police plan to focus on cracking down on booking train tickets through fraudulent methods. This is because, in the past, there have been ongoing cases of people using macros to purchase large quantities of tickets before holidays and reselling them.
Korea Railroad Corporation and SR Co., Ltd. analyze online train ticket reservations to detect the use of macros and report suspicious cases to the National Police Agency for investigation. The police will promptly begin investigations into illegal activities, focusing on cyber investigation units nationwide.
The police will monitor ticket reselling activities and simultaneously collect intelligence on the production and sale of macro programs used for ticket reservations, thereby conducting a comprehensive crackdown on the entire illegal ticket scalping process.
