SK Telecom announced on September 3 that it will implement the "Visiting Happiness Safety School," which includes support for utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for digitally vulnerable groups and education on preventing financial crimes.

Through this program, SK Telecom will visit approximately 120 locations nationwide, including Jeongseon, Uljin, Taean, and Muan, by December this year, targeting digitally vulnerable groups with limited online and offline accessibility. The company will provide education on how to use digital technologies and prevent financial fraud such as voice phishing.

The Visiting Happiness Safety School is the third phase of the "Visiting Service," which began in May. In addition to the existing SIM card replacement-focused service, it now offers AI technology utilization support and education on preventing digital financial crimes.

Senior customers can learn how to use AI technology in their daily lives through SK Telecom's AI service "A." In addition, the program introduces the latest methods of financial crimes such as voice phishing and smishing through real-life cases, and provides step-by-step guidance on how to respond to each scenario.

Other services include SIM card replacement, smartphone inspection and cleaning, and screen protector replacement, offering one-on-one customized solutions for issues seniors may encounter while using their smartphones. Furthermore, to ensure a thorough understanding of the educational content, an AI counselor will provide explanations of the material via "AI Call" once a week for 12 weeks, totaling 12 sessions over three months.

Starting in November, SK Telecom plans to expand the program to include AI utilization education and digital financial crime prevention education for adolescents with borderline intellectual functioning.

Previously, following a cyber breach incident, SK Telecom supported SIM card replacements at over 400 locations nationwide, including remote rural areas, welfare centers for people with disabilities, and comprehensive social welfare centers.

Um Jonghwan, Head of ESG Promotion at SK Telecom, stated, "SK Telecom is committed to protecting our customers from various risks of digital crime and creating a digitally inclusive environment where all customers can conveniently use AI. We will continue our efforts to build customer trust through a variety of programs, including the Visiting Happiness Safety School."
