Taebaek City to Host "Taebaek Trail Competition"... Run Along Taebaeksan, Eopyeongjae, and Hambaeksan Trails
Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on September 3 that it will host the "2025 Taebaek Trail Competition" on September 6. The event is organized by the Taebaek City Triathlon Association and is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Taebaek City, and the Taebaek City Council.

View original imageThe Taebaek Trail Competition was first held last year after being selected for the "2024 Regional Specialized Sports Infrastructure Project" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. This year marks its second edition.
The competition will feature four courses: 51 km, 30 km, 23 km, and 13 km. Depending on the course they choose, participants will run along Taebaek's iconic mountain trails, including Taebaeksan, Eopyeongjae, Hambaeksan, and Jijirigol.

A Taebaek City official stated, "We hope for great interest and participation in this event, which offers the opportunity to experience Taebaek's beautiful mountain trails." The official added, "We will continue to host a variety of sports competitions throughout all four seasons to further invigorate the region."
