On September 2, Council Member Jinseong Noh stated during the main session's "5-Minute Free Speech," "Dong-gu has the highest proportion of young people among the five autonomous districts of Gwangju, at 27.65%. Last year, Dong-gu's total fertility rate was 0.86, ranking first among the five districts," adding, "However, there are no children's hospitals operating at night."
He continued, "If a child falls ill on a weekday night or holiday, parents have to go to hospitals in other districts, which is a significant inconvenience. Although the birth rate is high, the supporting medical infrastructure is lacking."
