Specialized Training in Electrical Engineering and Automotive Technology for Strategic Local Industries
Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Taesang) is expanding its international student recruitment by attracting scholarship students selected and supported by a local government in Mongolia.
In particular, it is drawing attention because it is rare for a domestic university to host international students supported by an overseas local government.
From August 28 to 31, a delegation from Gyeongnam Information University, including President Kim Taesang, visited Selenge Province in Mongolia, met with the provincial governor, and held an information session for 17 scholarship students selected by Selenge Province and their parents.

In April, a working-level team from Gyeongnam Information University visited Mongolia to discuss the selection of about 100 scholarship students. Selenge Province continued the exchange by sending an official invitation to President Kim Taesang through the Korean Embassy.
Governor Enrakbadorji explained, "After visiting several universities, I was impressed by Gyeongnam Information University's customized curriculum for international students, its support system for student settlement, and its state-of-the-art training facilities. That is why we chose it as the university to send our scholarship students."
The selected students will first receive Korean language education at the university's Korean Language Institute. Then, with full scholarships from the Selenge Province government, they will receive specialized training at the university in fields linked to strategic industries such as electrical engineering and automotive technology.
Additionally, the Gyeongnam Information University delegation signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with two local vocational colleges-Selenge Polytechnic College and Junghara Polytechnic College-at the Selenge Provincial Government Office to promote future student exchanges and joint educational programs.
