Boosting Local Tourism with a Ramyeon Festival
Wonju City in Gangwon Province will host the "2025 Wonju Ramyeon Festa" for three days from September 19 to 21, 2025.
This festival, which will take place at the outdoor theater area of Sangji University in Usan-dong, Wonju, aims to promote Wonju's historical identity as the birthplace of Samyang Ramyeon, the first instant noodle in Korea, and to elevate ramyeon as a new signature local tourism festival.
The Wonju Ramyeon Festa, being held for the first time this year, is designed as a comprehensive festival that brings together ramyeon-themed experiences, gourmet food, and performances in one place. In particular, a large cup-ramyeon sculpture will be installed at the festival site to capture the attention of visitors.
More than 30 booths, including major domestic ramyeon brands and local merchants, will participate in the festival, offering a variety of tasting and hands-on experience opportunities.
Wonju City is making every effort to ensure that citizens and tourists can enjoy the festival safely and conveniently by strengthening safety management measures and operating convenience facilities during the event.
