Gwangju Office of Education to Nurture Vocational High School Talent for Five Core Industries
93 Students Participated in the First Half of the Year
Programs Offered in AI and Cultural Industry
Expansion to Transportation and Medical Healthcare in the Second Half
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on August 29 that it will operate an educational program aimed at nurturing vocational high school students as talent for the region's five core industries.
The Bitgoeul Vocational Education Innovation District is a project designed to support vocational high school students in becoming regional technical talent by guiding them through education, employment, and settlement. The city office of education is running the program in collaboration with the Gwangju City Government, vocational high schools, local universities, and related organizations.
In the first half of the year, six programs-including AI convergence and the cultural industry-were operated in partnership with six organizations, with 93 students participating. In the second half, additional organizations such as the Smart Talent Development Institute, the Korea Lifelong Education Association, and the Gwangju Youth Life Design Center will join the initiative.
The curriculum is tailored to the five core industries: future-oriented transportation, energy, medical healthcare, AI convergence, and the cultural industry. It also includes courses such as beauty, AI-based personalized programs, and portfolio planning. The Gwangju Employers Federation is also contributing to the operation of the program.
