Han Jungae, Chair of the Policy Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced that the party will focus on processing key bills centered on four core tasks-public livelihood, growth, reform, and safety-during the regular session of the National Assembly.

View original imageAt the Policy Coordination Meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on the 28th, Han stated, "We will organize the specific details during the Democratic Party workshop in preparation for the 2025 regular session of the National Assembly, which begins today." She added, "With legislative achievements that the public can truly feel, the party, government, and presidential office will unite as one team to firmly support the Lee Jaemyung government of national sovereignty."
Heo Young, Senior Deputy Floor Leader for Policy, also emphasized, "In the upcoming regular session, the Democratic Party will prioritize economic recovery and the expansion of growth foundations to protect the lives of the people." He continued, "We will ensure the smooth implementation of legislative tasks such as practical measures to ease the burden of living costs, revitalizing domestic demand through fiscal policy, guiding a soft landing for household debt, and regulatory reforms to enhance corporate competitiveness."
During the Policy Coordination Meeting, there was also a positive assessment of the non-contentious bills that passed the plenary session the previous day. Fourteen bills were passed, including the Act on the Honorable Treatment of and Establishment of Organizations for Veterans, which grants living support payments to the spouses of veterans after their death, and the Capital Markets and Financial Investment Services Act, which introduces the Business Development Company (BDC) system to focus investments on venture and innovative companies.

Han specifically mentioned the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Veterans, stating, "We will provide special treatment to those who have made extraordinary sacrifices for the nation." She added, "From the perspective that support for veterans transcends party lines, I would like to reiterate our commitment to improving the treatment of veterans and their families in the future."
