Financial Services Commission to Expand Integrated Support for Small Business Owners Using Public MyData Starting in October
On-Site Meeting Held on Integrated Support Using Public MyData
Expanding Integrated Support Linkage for Small Business Owners in Debt Adjustment
Establishing a Mutual Guidance System Among Agencies Including KAMCO
The financial authorities will establish a mutual guidance system among related agencies starting in October, allowing small business owners facing difficulties such as recent closures to more easily access the integrated support system during debt adjustment processes.
On August 27, the Financial Services Commission announced that it had held an on-site meeting with the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency and the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service to identify challenges and improvement tasks for tailored integrated support counselors.
'Tailored Integrated Support' is a service that connects users to a variety of support policies across finance, employment, and welfare fields, based on user information obtained through public MyData during integrated support counseling.
Although less than a month has passed since its implementation, the Financial Services Commission explained that there have already been cases where integrated support was provided more quickly and accurately compared to before. In particular, the number of cases linked from the Integrated Financial Support Center to the employment and welfare sectors has increased. From the official launch of the integrated support system in 2024 to the first half of this year, there have been 60,424 successful employment linkages and 109,757 welfare linkages.
During the on-site meeting, it was pointed out that a linkage system should be established with relevant organizations, such as Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) and the Small Enterprise and Market Service, so that small business owners and self-employed individuals can easily use the integrated support system during debt adjustment counseling. The Financial Services Commission plans to begin discussions with related agencies immediately and establish a mutual guidance system by October.
Additionally, to help users easily understand the necessity of the integrated support system during counseling, guidance messages will be provided. After counseling, a summary of the results will be sent via text message to actively inform users about which agencies will be contacting them and for what reasons.
