Busan Northern Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Holds Safety and Health Forum for Construction Sites
Participation from Over 70 Construction Companies
Sharing Best Practices and Discussing Accident Prevention Strategies
The Busan Northern Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (headed by Min Gwangje) held a "Safety and Health Forum for Mutual Cooperation" at the Korea Railroad Human Resources and Technology Institute's main auditorium on August 26.
More than 130 participants attended the forum, including site managers and safety and health personnel from over 70 construction companies operating in the northern Busan area.
The Safety and Health Forum serves as a platform for communication, sharing, and disseminating safety and health information that is practically needed at construction sites. The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency regularly organize and operate these forums. The Northern Branch previously held a forum for the manufacturing sector in May.
The purpose of this forum was to identify and spread best practices from construction sites so that other sites can benchmark them, as well as to share recent accident cases to raise awareness and vigilance on site.
In the first part of the event, the Ministry of Employment and Labor presented its "Safe Workplace Project," and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency provided training on construction accident cases. The second part featured presentations on outstanding risk assessment practices by SK Ecoplant, fall prevention cases in building construction by Hyundai Engineering, and safety and health cases at civil engineering sites by Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
