View original imageOn August 26, Korea Southern Power announced that it will officially begin commercial operation of a large-scale solar power project utilizing unused rooftops within industrial complexes nationwide.
The newly completed rooftop solar power plants have been installed on the rooftops of buildings in 39 industrial complexes across the country, with a total installed capacity of 16.2MW. In particular, large-scale megawatt-class solar power plants have been established in Ulsan (1.7MW) and Cheongju (1.2MW), which Korea Southern Power expects will serve as key hubs for eco-friendly energy production within these industrial complexes.
This project is especially beneficial as it provides additional income to factory owners who lease their unused rooftops, while supplying 21GWh of eco-friendly energy annually to the industrial complexes, achieving a win-win effect.
