Arts Council to Hold On-Site Public Hearing on Artist Support Measures on August 27-28
The Arts Council Korea will hold an "on-site public hearing" at the Arko Art Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on August 27 and 28, to develop support measures that artists can truly feel.
This public hearing will be held a total of four times, focusing on different topics and panels for each field. On August 27, the sessions will cover visual arts and multidisciplinary arts, while on August 28, the focus will be on literature and performing arts.
The Arts Council plans to collect on-site opinions centered on each field's topic, diagnose key issues, and identify practical improvements in order to develop support measures that artists can experience directly.
The Arts Council will move up the application period for the 2026 Arts Promotion Fund support program from October to September. This change reflects feedback from the "on-site work report" in March, which called for an application schedule that takes into account artists' working conditions, as well as consideration of the October holiday schedule.
Those wishing to attend the public hearing in person can register in advance on the Arts Council's website, and participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will also be broadcast live online through the Arts Council's YouTube channel.
