Dong-A University Holds Graduation Farewell Party for International Students
114 Graduates Embark on New Journeys
Celebrating Achievements and Challenges Overcome in a Foreign Culture
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 25th that it held the "2024 Second Semester Graduation Farewell Party for International Students" at Gyeongdong Hall, Bumin Campus, on the 21st.
This event was organized to build an international alumni network and to promote exchanges between current students and graduates. The event was attended by Park Hyuntae, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Dong-A University, officials from the International Exchange Division, graduates and their families, as well as current students.
This year's second semester graduates include 28 undergraduate students, 75 from the general graduate school, and 11 from the Graduate School of International Studies, totaling 114 graduates. To facilitate smooth communication, the university introduced a multilingual interpretation and translation system, ensuring that participants from various language backgrounds could attend the event without inconvenience.
During the event, certificates of academic excellence were awarded to the following graduates: Pham Titu Ngan (Department of Health Management), Aidarova Aruzhan (Master's, Graduate School of International Studies, Department of International Studies), and Gravito Eco Virando (Ph.D., General Graduate School, Department of ICT Convergence Marine Smart City Engineering).
In his farewell address, Director Park Hyuntae remarked, "Four years of university are never easy for anyone, but for international students, it must have truly been a 'survival challenge.' The hardships you endured in an unfamiliar language and culture have made your stories even more valuable, and the challenges you will take on around the world will further enhance the reputation of Dong-A University."
The graduates also shared their thoughts. Nguyen Van Kiet (Vietnam, Department of Business Administration) said, "Today's diploma is not just a piece of paper, but a record of the time, tears, and joy I experienced in Korea. The experiences I gained at Dong-A University will always be a strong foundation wherever I go."
Hussain Ashar (Pakistan, Ph.D., General Graduate School, Department of Chemical Engineering) commented, "Life as an international student was an adventure, filled with both challenges and laughter. We have proven that we can achieve anything. Let us move forward to create a better tomorrow."

Representing the current students, Batbayar Gunjidma (Mongolia, junior, Department of Political Science and Diplomacy), who delivered the farewell speech, said, "The passion and achievements of our seniors have greatly inspired us. Their footsteps are a source of pride for the school and a path that juniors should strive to follow."
